The Wideleg Pant. It's a girl’s new best friend.
So, it’s Spring...well kind of. Here in New England we are still waiting! With Spring comes a jam-packed season of social events, including, of course, the new wedding season!
My calendar this spring is packed with a plethora of social functions. I'm sure I'm not alone! Don't get me wrong, we live for parties, but my calendar this Spring is PACKED with weddings, auctions, reunions and galas....I’m already exhausted!
And so, my obsessive outfit plotting and scheming has begun.
It needs to be versatile. I’m tired of dropping cash for a cocktail dress that I’ll wear once, only to be relegated to the ‘special’ part of my closet to hang in shame for the rest of the year.
I also have a day job, working as an attorney in a traditional office.
I want versatility, hear me?! I want pieces that are rock-solid go-tos for evening social functions, AND can work into my day-to-day office wear.
But does the ideal exist?! I think it does.
It’s the wide-leg pant. Boom. Drop the mike.
Seen in solid colors or fun prints.
Cut drapey and flowy or more structured, cropped or long.
I . want . them . all!
Take a peek at some of my inspiration for widelegs working both day and evening:
GET THE LOOK
(1) Long, straight wide-leg, navy POLKA DOT pants from JCrew
(2) Paired with a slinky navy silk tank top, such as this one from JCrew (in my favorite ‘half-tuck’, of course)
Maybe a (5) Soft white tuxedo jacket? I selected this one from Eli Tahari
For work, I’ll pair with a blouse and blazer, or fitted sweater, pearls and pumps.
For daytime events, I’ll pair with a fitted twinset or silk blouse and heeled sandals. I’m also loving them with a squared off crop top and killer heels.

I see this mix-and-match scenario working out in endless ways! So, this Spring, I’m wearing the pants in the family. Watch out.
