Fun for the littles.
This one is selfish, and you'll be into it for the exact reasons that I am. It's okay. We love our children, but we also love a free moment with a good cocktail in hand.
Here’s how we get after Thanksgiving in our house:
Burn off some energy. Take the kids on a brisk nature walk. Ask each to gather pretty pieces to decorate their table and place settings. It’s a great way to add that natural element to your Thanksgiving table we talked about here.
Cover your table in brown craft paper. Set out crayons, Gluedots, feathers, stickers, scissors, construction paper, leaves and other items collected outside. Have each Little decorate their placesetting and ask them to write what they are thankful for. The novelty of being allowed to write ON the table and being part of a group activity will surely buy you enough time for two cocktails.
Set up a fun craft and grab yourself a third cocktail. Ask each family to pool what supplies they already have on hand to save you a trip to the store. We pulled off these cute feather headdresses without spending a dime.
All of that fresh air, running around, and crafting earns you a fourth cocktail. Whoa, now we're getting a little crazy. Maybe you don't have to work on Friday?
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! Wishing you love, happiness and full bellies!
