Don't overlook the napkin. You're laughing aren't you?
Often an afterthought, this element of your table setting can not only transform the final look but it is one of the simplest ways to make a statement.
While there are countless ways to get your napkin groove on, I'm sharing two simple ideas below.
Wrap the napkin around the plate horizontally or vertically for a crisp, clean look.
Add a pop of color with the addition of a natural element. Make it easy on yourself and gather from your surroundings. There are killer berries this time of year that are screaming Thanksgiving table. These berries I actually found on a walk to the park with my daughter. I layered them over some fresh sage that was on hand from the Butternut Squash Soup.
Simple napkin ring.
Use this free flowing approach to showcase the pattern of the napkin or roll tightly for a cleaner modern look. This Copper Napkin Ring from Crate and Barrel is the perfect compliment to the Modern Copper Flatware from Sur la Table. Don't have napkin rings on hand? Use some festive ribbon, bakers twine or raffia.
For a little extra interest, I added a clipping of seagrass found in the front yard. You'll have fun getting creative and find yourself inspired by the nature around you. Remember there is no right or wrong, and don't force it. If it's not working, it's not right.
